What Is Feedback?
Information to the learner about what was experienced or observed during an interaction. See our Feedback Training document.
Why is Feedback important?
- Enriches teaching situation
- Learner hears about the impact of their behavior
- Learner receives feedback from the observer/patient perspective
- Learner has opportunity to maintain or modify their behavior.
Remember: "A Standardized Patient’s (SP) area of expertise is how the "patient" experienced the clinical encounter with the student." Let the student know how the "patient" felt. Describe how the student's behavior affected you as the "patient".
